REMOVAL

CAUTION:

If brake fluid is spilt on the paintwork, the affected area must be immediately washed down with cold water.

NOTE:

Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

All vehicles

  1. Make the SRS system safe.

    Refer to: Standard Workshop Practices (100-00 General Information, Description and Operation).

  2. Refer to: Driver Lower Airbag Module (501-20B Supplemental Restraint System, Removal and Installation).
  3. Refer to: Windshield Wiper Motor (501-16 Wipers and Washers, Removal and Installation).
  4. Refer to: Brake Master Cylinder (206-06 Hydraulic Brake Actuation, Removal and Installation).

Left-hand drive vehicles

  1. Refer to: Battery Tray (414-01 Battery, Mounting and Cables, Removal and Installation).

Power brake actuation brake booster (G1785125) removal and installation

Torque: 9 Nm

WARNING:

Fluid loss is unavoidable, use absorbent cloth or a container to collect the fluid.

Torque: 17 Nm

Right-hand drive vehicles

WARNING:

Fluid loss is unavoidable, use absorbent cloth or a container to collect the fluid.

Torque: 17 Nm

All vehicles

Torque: 25 Nm

INSTALLATION

CAUTION:

Make sure that new brake pedal plastic pin has been installed.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.

REMOVAL

NOTES:

  • The brake vacuum pump is an integral component of the engine oil pump and cannot be serviced separately.

INSTALLATION

To install, reverse the removal procedure.
