Land Rover Discovery: Vanity Mirror Illumination Lamp

Vanity Mirror Illumination Lamp

A vanity mirror lamp is located in the headliner above each sun visor. Each vanity mirror lamp has an on/off control switch. The vanity mirror lamps are not connected to the CJB automatic interior lamp function.

The vanity mirror lamps are provided a voltage feed from the power saver relay within the CJB. The lamps are provided with a power supply until the power saver relay contacts are opened. This prevents excessive primary battery drain if the vanity mirror lamps are inadvertently left on.

LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT LAMP

LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT LAMP

A single luggage compartment lamp is located in the right 'C' pillar trim in the luggage compartment.

Power is supplied to illuminate the luggage compartment lamps when the tailgate is opened and the tailgate latch ajar switch is operated. The switch supplies a ground signal to the CJB, which then illuminates the luggage compartment lamps. When the tailgate is closed the ground signal is removed and the luggage compartment lamps are turned off. The luggage compartment lamps are provided a voltage feed from the power saver relay within the CJB. The lamps are provided with a power supply until the power saver relay contacts are opened. This prevents excessive primary battery drain if the tailgate is left open for a period of time.

TREADPLATE ILLUMINATION LIGHT EMITTING DIODES (LEDS)

The front door rocker panels are fitted with illuminated treadplates. The illumination is provided by LEDs. When the LEDs are active they illuminate a 'Discovery' graphic within the treadplate.

The treadplate LEDs are operated via the automatic interior lighting controlled by the CJB. When the doors are unlocked all of the treadplate LEDs are illuminated along with the interior lamps. The treadplate LEDs are operated by a Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) output from the CJB to fade the LEDs on and off with the interior lamps. If the automatic illumination function has been disabled, the treadplate LEDs are also disabled.
