Land Rover Discovery: Rear end Sheet Metal Repairs Rear Wheelhouse Outer (G1770944) - Removal

Removal

NOTE:

The rear wheelhouse outer is installed in conjunction with:

  • Rear bumper cover
  • Side panel
  • Quarter panel
  • Quarter panel lower extension
  • Inner quarter panel upper
  • Fuel tank filler pipe
  • Rocker panel

Rear end sheet metal repairs rear wheelhouse outer (G1770944) - Removal

  1. The rear wheelhouse outer s serviced as indicated.
  2. Before commencing this procedure make sure that you are aware of all Health and Safety requirements.

    For additional information, refer to: Health and Safety Precautions (100-00, Description and Operation).

NOTES:

  • Any joints sealed as part of vehicle manufacture must be sealed as part of the repair.

    Make sure a zinc rich primer is applied to any bare metal surfaces.

NOTE:

Right hand only.

  1. Cut the inner quarter panel upper as indicated.

  1. Remove the spot welds as indicated.
  2. Carefully separate the joints and remove the inner quarter panel upper.

  1. Remove the spot welds as indicated.

  1. Remove the retaining nuts as indicated.

  1. Remove the spot welds and remove the bracket to reveal hidden spot welds as indicated.

  1. Remove the spot welds as indicated.
  2. Carefully separate the joints and remove the rear wheelhouse outer.
