FILLING

CAUTION:

The following procedure is for filling and bleeding the system with correct oil volume. Failure to follow this instruction may result in damage to the active driveline system.

WARNING:

Make sure to support the vehicle with axle stands.

Raise and support the vehicle.

FILLING

Remove the fluid filler plug.

CAUTION:

Make sure that the correct specification of fluid is used.

  1. Fill the actuator assembly.

    Refer to: Specifications (205-02B, Specifications).

WARNING:

Fluid loss is unavoidable, use absorbent cloth or a container to collect the fluid.

CAUTION:

Do not over tighten the filler plug. Failure to follow this instruction may result in damage to the actuator assembly.

FILLING

Install the filler plug.

Torque: 12 Nm

FILLING

Lower the vehicle.

NOTE:

Using the approved Land Rover diagnostic equipment, bleed the hydraulic system using the service routine.

Carry out routine 3017 active driveline system pump bleed

NOTE:

Inspect the hydraulic system connections for fluid spillage

Raise the vehicle

NOTE:

After the hydraulic system bleeding procedure has been performed, make sure that the closing valves are in the open position as illustrated. Closed valves indicate that the hydraulic system bleeding procedure has not been successful.

FILLING

CAUTION:

This step only required if the bleeding procedure has not been successful.

  1. Repeat the filling procedure from step 1 to 8. Add further 100 ml of fluid.

NOTE:

Before disconnect any components of the active driveline hydraulic system, the two pipe port closing valve must be closed manually as illustrated.

Close the valves.

CAUTION:

Be prepared to collect escaping fluids.

Drain the rear drive unit actuator.

FILLING

Install draining plug.

Torque: 16 Nm

Remove the fluid filler plug.

Fill the actuator assembly, add 330 +- 10 ml of fluid.

WARNING:

Fluid loss is unavoidable, use absorbent cloth or a container to collect the fluid.

CAUTION:

Do not over tighten the filler plug. Failure to follow this instruction may result in damage to the actuator assembly.

FILLING

Install the filler plug.

Torque: 12 Nm

Lower the vehicle.

BLEEDING

NOTE:

Using the approved Land Rover diagnostic equipment, bleed the hydraulic system using the service routine.

Carry out routine 3017 active driveline system pump bleed.

NOTE:

Inspect the hydraulic system connections for fluid spillage.

Raise the vehicle.

NOTE:
