/ Diagnosis and Testing -
Inspection and Verification
PRINCIPLES OF OPERATION
For a detailed description of the Glass, Frames and Mechanisms, refer to
the relevant Description and Operation section in the workshop manual.

Mechanisms, Description and Operation).
Inspection and verification
CAUTION:
Diagnosis by substitution from a donor vehicle is NOT acceptable.
Substitution of control modules does not guarantee confirmation of a
fault, and may also cause additional faults in the vehicle being tested
and/or the donor vehicle.
NOTES:
- If a control module or a component is suspect and the vehicle
remains under manufacturer warranty, refer to the Warranty Policy
and Procedures manual, or determine if any prior approval
programme is in operation, prior to the installation of a new
module/component.
- When performing voltage or resistance tests, always use a digital
multimeter accurate to three decimal places, and with an up-todate
calibration certificate. When testing resistance always take the
resistance of the digital multimeter leads into account.
- The door window regulator motor can be removed from the
regulator. Issues with the door window regulator motor may require
the installation of a new door window regulator motor only and not
the replacement of the complete regulator assembly.
- Check and rectify basic faults before beginning diagnostic routines
involving pinpoint tests.
- Verify the customer concern
- Visually inspect for obvious signs of damage and system integrity
Visual Inspection
- If an obvious cause for an observed or reported concern is found,
correct the cause (if possible) before proceeding to the next step
- If the cause is not visually evident, verify the symptom and refer to
the
Symptom Chart, alternatively check for Diagnostic Trouble Codes
(DTCs) and refer to the DTC Index
- Check DDW for open campaigns. Refer to the corresponding bulletins
and SSMs which may be valid for the specific customer complaint and
carry out the recommendations as required

FURTHER DIAGNOSTICS FOR ROOF OPENING PANEL BLIND ISSUES
The following diagnostic tests should be used if the customer reports that
the roof opening panel blind is not functioning as expected.
NOTE:
These diagnostic procedures allow the technician to accurately
identify the precise nature of the roof opening panel blind fault. To
assist the supplier in understanding the concerns (so that the quality
of the parts can be improved) please use the diagnostics aid below to
correctly identify and report the specific concern description via the
dealer warranty system
ROOF OPENING PANEL BLIND FAULTS - REMEDIAL ACTIONS
NOTE:
If the roof opening panel blind is de-normalised the roof glass cannot
open (roof opening panel blind position is not known). If the roof
glass is de-normalised the roof opening panel blind cannot close (roof
glass position is not known)
Roof opening panel blind initialization
NOTE:
Roof opening panel blind initialization will be lost if the battery is
disconnected, or if the roof opening panel blind motor power supply
is interrupted whilst the roof opening panel blind is in motion.
Initialize the roof opening panel blind as follows:
- Start the engine and leave running during the initialization process
- Ensure that the roof opening panel blind is in the fully closed position
-
press the close switch to achieve this
- Press and hold the close switch again and wait for the cables to
double click (it should take approximately 30 seconds), and release the
switch
- Within 3 seconds, press and hold the close switch. The roof opening
panel blind will automatically travel toward the open position and then
to the fully closed position. Release the switch when movement is
complete

NOTE:
The door window regulator motor can be removed from the
regulator. Install a new door window regulator motor only not the
complete assembly for this concern.
ANTI - RATTLE RETAINING
NOTES:
Make sure that the vehicle battery is fully charged before carrying
out this procedure.
After the battery has been disconnected or a new window regulator
and motor or door module has been

INSTALLATION
NOTE:
An audible click is heard when the clips are fully latched.
To install, reverse the removal procedure.
The rain/light sensor is located at the upper edge of the windshield, behind
the interior rear view mirror trim panel. Contact between the rain sensor
and windscreen is provided via a silicon pad which is compressed during the
assembly process by two locking retaining clips either side of the sens
