NOTE:
Make sure that the drilled out spot welds are installed with metal
inert gas (MIG) plug welds in the same quantities.
- Using the old suspension top mount for reference prepare the new
suspension top mount in the areas where it is not fully welded and
install the spot welds.
CAUTION:
This step requires the aid of another technician as the
suspension top mount is heavy.
- Offer up the new suspension top mount and clamp into position.
Check alignment if correct, proceed to next step, if not, rectify and
recheck before proceeding.
NOTE:
Make sure that the drilled out spot welds are installed with
MIG plug welds in the same quantities.
- Drill holes where the MIG plug welds are to be installed as
indicated.

- Remove the suspension top mount.
- Deburr the drilled holes.
- Clean and prepare the panel surfaces.

suspension top mount is heavy.
- Offer up the new suspension top mount and clamp into position.
Check alignment if correct, proceed to next step, if not, rectify and
recheck before proceeding.
- Install the MIG plug welds as indicated.
- Install the MIG plug welds as indicated.
NOTE:
Make sure that the MIG plug welds are installed from the
inside of the vehicle.
- Install the MIG plug welds as indicated.
- Dress all welded joints.
NOTES:
- Left hand only.
- The measurements provided in the graphic are to be used
as a guide only. The components that are located/installed
to these weld studs must be offered up and cross checked
for alignment prior to the installation of the weld studs to
the new panel.
- Prepare the new suspension top mount and install the weld studs in
their original locations.

- Prepare the new suspension top mount and install the weld studs in
their original locations.
- Make sure that any open or exposed panel joints are sealed with a
Land Rover recommended sealer.
- Make sure corrosion protection is applied to all areas affected by
repair.
- The installation of associated panels and components is the reversal
of removal procedure.
