RF RECEIVER
The RF receiver is located on the front left side of the headliner. A mounting block is bonded to the headliner. Tabs on the mounting block secure the RF receiver in the block.
The RF receiver is identical for all vehicle specifications, but differs in the operating frequency depending on market. The RF receiver for each vehicle specification is identified by a suffix change to the base part number as follows:
The RF receiver converts the signals transmitted by the smart key into digital messages, and then transmits the message via the ISO9141 K line bus to the Keyless Vehicle Module (KVM).
A fused permanent power supply is provided to the RF receiver via the Engine Junction Box (EJB) and the Central Junction Box (CJB).
INTERIOR CENTRAL DOOR LOCKING SWITCHES
The driver door is fitted with a master Central Door Locking (CDL) lock/unlock switch. Operation of the switch in the lock position locks all doors preventing access from the exterior of the vehicle by disengaging the exterior door handle cables. A Light emitting diode (LED) in the CDL lock/unlock switch illuminates to indicate that the exterior door handles are locked. The interior door handles remain functional to open the doors from inside the vehicle. Operation of the switch in the unlock position unlocks all exterior door handles and engages the exterior door handle cables.
Where fitted, the passenger door and the rear doors are fitted with a CDL lock switch. Operation of any of the CDL lock switches locks the exterior door handles by disengaging the exterior door handle cables. A Light emitting diode (LED) in all of the CDL lock switches illuminates to indicate that the exterior door handles are locked. The interior door handles remain functional to open the doors from inside the vehicle. Operation of the master CDL lock/unlock switch in the unlock position, unlocks all exterior door handles and engages the exterior door handle cables.
A lock status signal is sent from each door latch assembly to illuminate the LED in each CDL switch to indicate that the exterior door handle has been disabled.
Operation of a CDL lock switch or the CDL lock/unlock switch sends a hardwired signal to the CJB. The CJB then sends a signal on the medium speed Controller Area Network (CAN) body systems bus to each door module. The door module then initiates the lock or unlock request.
CDL locking using the CDL lock switch or the CDL lock/unlock switch is inhibited if either of the front doors is open. If a door is open when a CDL switch is pressed, the exterior door handles will be disabled then immediately enabled.
